What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is made of hyaluronic acid, a molecule found naturally in the body. Hyaluronic acid holds onto moisture, helping skin look more hydrated and healthy. Other dermal fillers may use different formulas of hyaluronic acid or may use another material.
Each member of the Restylane® family has different properties to make them ideal for different areas of the face, such as Restylane® Silk, which has a smooth, flexible formula perfect for use in the lips, or Restylane® Lyft, which has a thicker texture that holds up to the challenge of cheek enhancement.
How Does Restylane® Work?
By injecting hyaluronic acid into the skin, Restylane® adds immediate volume and lift to the treated area. This can look subtle or more noticeable, so consult with your provider to make sure you communicate what kind of results you want.
Hyaluronic acid not only adds an immediate volume boost to the skin, but the hyaluronic acid formula also draws in moisture, providing more volume and fullness. Skin will also feel youthful and resilient.
How Long Does Restylane® Last?
Restylane® may last anywhere from six to eighteen months, depending on the formula and the area of the face. Fillers in more mobile areas like the lips have a thin, flexible texture and do not last as long as more dense fillers such as cheek and wrinkle fillers.
