A Gentle Treatment, Powerful Results
If you’re noticing early signs of agin and/or sun damage on your skin, a MOXI laser skin treatment at West Michigan Plastic Surgery near Kalamazoo is an excellent solution. It helps you proactively maintain youthful skin by treating early signs of aging before they become pronounced. Safe for all skin types and tones, the MOXI laser is a gentle “prejuvenation” procedure that requires little to no downtime.
How Does the MOXI Laser Work?
As a non-ablative fractional laser, MOXI creates pinpoint channels in the skin without damaging surrounding tissue. The micro-injuries stimulate the natural healing process, which produces new collagen to improve the skin’s tone and texture. The gentle nature of the MOXI laser makes it an ideal treatment for first-time laser patients.
Am I a Good Candidate for a MOXI Laser Treatment?
Good for all skin types and ages, many patients often choose MOXI treatment to get ahead of the damage caused by sun exposure and the natural aging process. Unlike many laser treatment alternatives, MOXI is an appropriate option regardless of skin type, and you can schedule a treatment at any time of the year. It’s also effective for patients with skin discoloration conditions such as melasma.
How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
MOXI laser treatments easily fit into your lunch break, usually taking less than 30 minutes. We will apply a numbing cream to your skin to ensure you remain comfortable. You’ll wear protective goggles during the procedure, during which the provider gradually moves the device across the target areas, such as the face, neck, or chest, or hands.
What Results Will I See?
Each patient’s response is unique, but you’ll likely see changes to your skin tone about a week after the initial treatment session. Some patients achieve their desired aesthetic goal after a single procedure. However, if you want to lighten dark spots or reduce sun damage, we recommend a series of at least 3 treatment sessions. You may also want to combine MOXI with Forever Young BBL™ treatments at our med spa. We can also recommend other skincare services, such as HALO® laser treatments.
Is There Any Downtime?
The recovery time after a MOXI laser treatment is minimal. You can expect some swelling and redness, along with pinpoint bleeding that typically goes away within 12 hours. Follow the post-care instructions from your provider. You can use a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water. Apply a light moisturizer after your skin dries. Makeup can be worn after 24 hours.
